Focus On Life Benefit Dinner

A message from the President:
Dear Friends of Life,

Well it's that time of the year again! DINNER TIME!!!! And we are counting on your support.

In past years we have had guests sharing different aspects of the life issues. This year we are blessed to have Alex Schadenberg accept our invitation to share with us the latest happenings on the subject of euthanasia and assisted suicide. Alex will join us on his return from the second International Symposium on Euthanasia held in Washington, DC. I am sure his presentation will not only be current but informative. Information we need to know as we continue to wage our battle against the culture of death that continues to threaten our way of life. (See poster fro more details.)

Reflection on this past year shows us once again how important our media campaign is. Our billboards, TV and radio ads have generated much publicity and have been a most important avenue for educating the public.

It's imperative that we not only "get" the message of Life into the market place but also "keep" it there. This we cannot do without your help. It is your faithful support that makes it possible for us to continue.

So please mark your calendars... Invite your family and friends to join you... Call your hosts and purchase your tickets. Crystal Palace has expanded their banqueting hall to a 400 seat capacity. Please help us fill it for an evening of fellowship and fine dining. See you there!

Yours for life,
Leo Leger.

Support Health Minister Mike Murphy

Pro-abortion activists, angry with what Mike Murphy said during the March for Life rally, are telling their supporters to phone his office and pressure him to resign. We need to counterbalance this by showing our support to Mr. Murphy.

Please consider sending, faxing or e-mailing a short letter of support to Mike Murphy. Let him know that his stand for Life is appreciated; that as a Minister of Health, he's done the right thing when he highlighted a medical fact that life begins at conception. Contact information is provided below.

Note from the Executive Director of the New Brunswick Right to Life, Peter Ryan:
Dear Friends,

I do not object to you writing to Mike Murphy, but if you do please make a point of asking him if he will be taking action to protect children at the Dumont and Chaleur Hospitals. We really need to press him on this.

Please do not be too complimentary toward him, as he really said nothing at the March other than his personal views that life of the unborn is sacred etc. - he said absolutely nothing about taking any action whatever to protect the unborn. If you praise him too much he will take it the wrong way - "Well that was easy, all I had to say is I am personally pro-life and I don't have to do anything about it at all!"

You can, however, say things like "I hope you will not be intimidated by those who passionately promote abortion rights and who think that somehow because of your personal views you cannot carry out your job responsibly."

God bless,
Peter Ryan

Exodus 2009 - New Brunswick March For Life Video

At least 406 people came to the New Brunswick Legislature to commemorate the tragic 40th anniversary of legalized abortion in Canada. Among those present were 17 MLAs, both Liberals and the Progressive Conservatives - that's nearly 1 in 3 lawmakers.

Here's a three-minute video collection: a rally at the New Brunswick Legislature, a march through downtown Fredericton and a prayer circle at the Mother and Child Welcome Center.
Check out The Daily Gleaner for a detailed report on the pro-life rally at the Legislature. A "live blog" report with a few pictures is available on the Stand Your Ground blog.

On behalf of Moncton Right to Life, I'd like to thank everyone who joined us that day to raise his voice for the voiceless unborn babies. Thank you, and let us never stop our march towards the country where every child is protected by law.

Pro-Life Petitions For The March For Life

May 14, 2009 is the sad 40th anniversary of abortion in Canada. Campaign Life Coalition has launched a petition drive, calling for legal protection of human life from the moment of conception/fertilization to natural death. The signed petition sheets will be forwarded to pro-life politicians who will formally present all the petitions collected in the House of Commons before May 14th, the 40th anniversary of the legalization of abortion.

Another option is to sign a pro-life petition online, using www.ContactMPs.com website. www.ContactMPs.com is a new free resource for us pro-life Canadians; where we can send an email to all MPs with just two clicks. Help make www.ContactMPs.com a grassroots success. Use and it share it with other pro-lifers today!

Count-Down To March For Life

National March For Life video:
Along with the National March for Life, there will be regional Marches for life in almost every province, including New Brunswick.

Please join us for the 2009 March for Life in Fredericton! It's Thursday, May 14 - 40 years to the day since that tragic day in 1969 when abortion was first legalized in Canada. Since then some 25,000 children have lost their lives just here in New Brunswick! Let's speak up for the voiceless unborn babies, who are being denied the most important right of all - the right to life. Hope to see you on May 14th!

Buses, sponsored by local pro-life chapters, are available from Moncton, Bathurst, Saint John and Hampton-Sussex.
