Focus On Life Benefit Dinner

A message from the President:
Dear Friends of Life,

Well it's that time of the year again! DINNER TIME!!!! And we are counting on your support.

In past years we have had guests sharing different aspects of the life issues. This year we are blessed to have Alex Schadenberg accept our invitation to share with us the latest happenings on the subject of euthanasia and assisted suicide. Alex will join us on his return from the second International Symposium on Euthanasia held in Washington, DC. I am sure his presentation will not only be current but informative. Information we need to know as we continue to wage our battle against the culture of death that continues to threaten our way of life. (See poster fro more details.)

Reflection on this past year shows us once again how important our media campaign is. Our billboards, TV and radio ads have generated much publicity and have been a most important avenue for educating the public.

It's imperative that we not only "get" the message of Life into the market place but also "keep" it there. This we cannot do without your help. It is your faithful support that makes it possible for us to continue.

So please mark your calendars... Invite your family and friends to join you... Call your hosts and purchase your tickets. Crystal Palace has expanded their banqueting hall to a 400 seat capacity. Please help us fill it for an evening of fellowship and fine dining. See you there!

Yours for life,
Leo Leger.

Support Health Minister Mike Murphy

Pro-abortion activists, angry with what Mike Murphy said during the March for Life rally, are telling their supporters to phone his office and pressure him to resign. We need to counterbalance this by showing our support to Mr. Murphy.

Please consider sending, faxing or e-mailing a short letter of support to Mike Murphy. Let him know that his stand for Life is appreciated; that as a Minister of Health, he's done the right thing when he highlighted a medical fact that life begins at conception. Contact information is provided below.

Note from the Executive Director of the New Brunswick Right to Life, Peter Ryan:
Dear Friends,

I do not object to you writing to Mike Murphy, but if you do please make a point of asking him if he will be taking action to protect children at the Dumont and Chaleur Hospitals. We really need to press him on this.

Please do not be too complimentary toward him, as he really said nothing at the March other than his personal views that life of the unborn is sacred etc. - he said absolutely nothing about taking any action whatever to protect the unborn. If you praise him too much he will take it the wrong way - "Well that was easy, all I had to say is I am personally pro-life and I don't have to do anything about it at all!"

You can, however, say things like "I hope you will not be intimidated by those who passionately promote abortion rights and who think that somehow because of your personal views you cannot carry out your job responsibly."

God bless,
Peter Ryan

Exodus 2009 - New Brunswick March For Life Video

At least 406 people came to the New Brunswick Legislature to commemorate the tragic 40th anniversary of legalized abortion in Canada. Among those present were 17 MLAs, both Liberals and the Progressive Conservatives - that's nearly 1 in 3 lawmakers.

Here's a three-minute video collection: a rally at the New Brunswick Legislature, a march through downtown Fredericton and a prayer circle at the Mother and Child Welcome Center.
Check out The Daily Gleaner for a detailed report on the pro-life rally at the Legislature. A "live blog" report with a few pictures is available on the Stand Your Ground blog.

On behalf of Moncton Right to Life, I'd like to thank everyone who joined us that day to raise his voice for the voiceless unborn babies. Thank you, and let us never stop our march towards the country where every child is protected by law.

Pro-Life Petitions For The March For Life

May 14, 2009 is the sad 40th anniversary of abortion in Canada. Campaign Life Coalition has launched a petition drive, calling for legal protection of human life from the moment of conception/fertilization to natural death. The signed petition sheets will be forwarded to pro-life politicians who will formally present all the petitions collected in the House of Commons before May 14th, the 40th anniversary of the legalization of abortion.

Another option is to sign a pro-life petition online, using www.ContactMPs.com website. www.ContactMPs.com is a new free resource for us pro-life Canadians; where we can send an email to all MPs with just two clicks. Help make www.ContactMPs.com a grassroots success. Use and it share it with other pro-lifers today!

Count-Down To March For Life

National March For Life video:
Along with the National March for Life, there will be regional Marches for life in almost every province, including New Brunswick.

Please join us for the 2009 March for Life in Fredericton! It's Thursday, May 14 - 40 years to the day since that tragic day in 1969 when abortion was first legalized in Canada. Since then some 25,000 children have lost their lives just here in New Brunswick! Let's speak up for the voiceless unborn babies, who are being denied the most important right of all - the right to life. Hope to see you on May 14th!

Buses, sponsored by local pro-life chapters, are available from Moncton, Bathurst, Saint John and Hampton-Sussex.

Bilingual Color Brochures For The New Brunswick March For Life

From Peter Ryan:
Dear Friends,

Here is a copy of our new brochure for the 2009 March for Life! It's bilingual and in full color (note: you have to print both files to get the full text in either French or English). We got a great deal on these, so will 5,000 at the first of the week for mass distribution!

The theme (Exodus) is the same as the National March, focused on the 40th anniversary of abortion in Canada.

We are pleased this year to have not only the Knights of Columbus but also the Catholic Women's League as a co-sponsor of our event.

When the brochure is sent out, it will also contain accompanying information on the line-up of speakers.

Please use this brochure to spread the word, so this will be the biggest and best March ever! Things are shaping up, with plans for at least 4 busloads coming from out of town (Saint John, Bathurst, Moncton).

Yours for life and love,

Peter Ryan

Re. Brochure Distribution: We plan to mail the brochure to each chapter, each K of C council, each CWL council, and a select number of other supporters likely to respond. If your group is doing a mailing to its members and would like to include a brochure, please let us know. Or if you will be attending a social gathering (e.g. conference) where those present might be receptive, we can provide brochures for distribution.
The brochures are now available for download at our website. Those are three-fold brochures so both sides must be printed to get full text in English language (Here's mostly English part and mostly French part.)

And, by the way, if you take a closer look at the brochure, you may find the graphics that was compiled by yours truly. Even the wording remained almost the same since it had been first published in October of 2007. Well, I'm glad I could contribute something to the brochure (even if it wasn't a direct contribution). Hopefully, it touches a few more hearts, bringing more people to the March for Life.

Baby Faith Hope Is 1 Month Old

Here's another update on the baby Faith Hope:
Faith turned 1 month old yesterday! And she is here to see the first day of spring... I haven't had time to post because Faith has been having some breathing problems in the last couple days. Her lungs seem to be inflamed and she has been wheezing and working hard for her breaths. We've been giving her Ventalin to open up her airways every 3 hours, Motrin every 6 hours to reduce inflammation, and we have been spending every spare moment positioning her to help her breathe better. It has been an exhausting and scary couple of days. I don't really have time to be on the computer right now, but I thought I should post a quick update to let you know how she's doing. But now I must go tend to my babykins. Thanks for checking in!

Baby Faith Hope Is 14 Days Old

Follow this link to see the video which Myah has posted on her blog. See baby Faith Hope is getting a few kisses from mommy... Isn't that adorable?

Happy Birthday, baby Faith Hope!

Here's what the baby's mother says about herself and her little daughter:
Thank you for being here and for all your thoughts and prayers. Although this isn't an easy road, I feel so blessed. I hope that hearing our story will bless you too.

Only about five percent of babies with anencephaly are carried to term...

Most of the mothers I know (actually all of the ones I know) who choose to carry to term are married and are either stay-at-home moms or have jobs with maternity leave.

I am 23 years old, unmarried, in my last year of university, no maternity leave, and pregnant with a baby girl who was diagnosed with anencephaly -a birth defect considered to be "incompatible with life."

If anyone had an excuse to terminate their pregnancy, it was me. But I didn't, not because it's wrong, but because I love her.

If I can do it then anyone can. You don't need to be strong. All it takes is love and faith in God.

If you've made your way to this site because your baby was recently diagnosed with anencephaly, I want you to know that even in the toughest circumstances, there is so much blessing in choosing to carry your baby to term. You will have so much joy that you never thought was possible and you'll never regret your decision.
Baby Faith Hope was born yesterday. And, according to the recent post on their blog, Faith Hope Walker will be going home tomorrow if all goes well with mommy and baby. Let's wish all the best to baby faith and to her mother Myah and let's keep them in our prayers.

New Site, New Blog

Moncton Right To Life now has a new website: http://www.dvmrl.com. Please update your bookmarks. In the upcoming weeks I'll keep working on the website, reorganizing the content, removing "dead" links and trying to incorporate at least the headers from our blog directly onto our website.

Yes, Moncton Right To Life now has a blog - http://dvmrl.blogspot.com. This is a great tool to get our announcements, observations, media releases and even letters to the editors published online, with a simple click of the mouse. Even as a standalone website, it's a great help in getting the word out.

So, it's all up to us now. We have a new hosting, one that doesn't try to stick its banners on our site, we have all the tools we need to get the word out, I even got a new digital camera several weeks ago, so we could get some decent pictures of our events for a change... Now, all that's left is to get things done :)
